Founded in 1992, Parle is one of India’s largest biscuit manufacturing companies with a long standing history. The company possesses multiple products around the Indian market which includes Parle-G, Marie & Hide&Seek.
Based in Mumbai, Parle Products is a multinational food processing company in India. Although they held a 70% share of the global biscuit market in 2019 and were the top-selling biscuit brand globally as of 2020, Parle has a low market presence and local awareness in Malaysia. Other than that, Parle has zero market content, low sales channel and scattered online distribution in the Malaysian market. Hence, the objective is to develop principal brand awareness and expand the local market by unfolding the online and offline sales channels.
Through understanding the past events that Parle did in Malaysia & discussions with Parle’s principal in India, we begin with the brand presence through offline campaigns. For instance, an event set up at Ampang Point Shopping Mall, a roadshow at Mr DIY Plus in Mid Valley Megamall, various business matching with Meja Talk in Johor, Penang, and Kuantan, as well as exhibitions in KLCC. In the meantime, we set up and managed the social media account and an E-Commerce platform as Parle Malaysia, and run an online giveaway campaign as well as engaged with 30 KOC to increase the word of mouth in the local market. We planned and organised every aspect of the Parle offline and online campaigns, including the booth designs, POSM materials, and campaign mechanisms.
Tremendous results are visible within 3 months. Parle has gained 45,000-page reach on Facebook and 5,000 channel reach on Instagram upon new page creation. Besides that, local brand awareness and recognition have been increased through offline events, such as the food-tasting booth at SIBS KLCC 2022 and a roadshow at Mr DIY Plus at Mid Valley Megamall. Through active participation at various events and online presence, Parle Malaysia has also successfully entered KK mart with over 600 outlets in Malaysia. + 300 mini supermarkets
